Small leaves grow out of a bud formed by the stipule, bud falls off leaving behind a characteristic interpetiolar ring.Glabrous ovate leaf.Tightly packed flowers, size of a table tennis ball are bourn all over a tree during a bloom.Flowers are greenish yellow with pleasant fragrance.Dark, hard fruiting heads appear after flowering. Fruits are aggregation of capsules. Fruits are not edible.
